The Radio City Local Heroes Awards recognises the unsung people in our region.

Local Hero: Blind Iraq war hero Craig Lundberg wins the Gold Award last year

On Tuesday 1st December we'll gather at the Contemporary Urban Centre, Liverpool, to celebrate the remarkable people who make our world a better place.

Many of the biggest names from showbiz, music and sport will be at the event and appear on stage. Among those who have previously attended our Local Heroes event include Rafa Benitez, David Moyes, Steven Gerrard, Mikel Arteta, Coleen Rooney, the Sugababes and Lemar.

Now in its fourth year, this event is not just about celebs and stars - it's about local people who do amazing things without asking for anything in return.

Nominations are closed for this year's event and we will be announcing the winners on the night.
